S. Jithesh is the former Vice-Chairman of Kerala Cartoon Academy[1]. He belongs to the genre of the odd and rare species of Performing Cartoonists. He has initiated and popularised 'Super-Speedy Cartooning' through his On the spot infotainment Cartoon Stage Shows-Varayarangu 2. His Varayarangu is a blend of poetry, anecdotes and socio-political satire with high speed drawing which explores the performing level possibilities of fine art. Sketching of more than thousand celebrity caricatures relentlessly with a lightning pace and satirical commentary is the major attraction of his cartoon stage shows. He is widely acclaimed as the World's Fastest Cartoonist since his amazing ability to sketch 50 celebrity caricatures within 5 minutes [2]. He has drawn cover illustrations and caricatures for more than thousand books in malayalam including Kamala Das' Collection of short stories 'Madhavikkuttiyude Unmakadhakal'. Jithesh has carved out his own niche of political sketches which have appeared in virtually every major Kerala publication. He has conducted many ‘On the spot Cartoon demonstrations’ of famous personalities. Jithesh is also an expert in anatomical illustrations. He is known for his grotesque yet hyper-realistic distortions of the facial features of celebrities, which he renders primarily with calligraphic and sketch pen. Jithesh is the chief pioneer of the literary genre, 'Cartoon Criticism' in Malayalam. He was the Editor-in-Chief of Chiricheppu Cartoon monthly. The hallmark of Jithesh's cartoon is their merciless attack upon the corruptions and other social evils prevailing in the society through his infotainment Cartoon Stage Shows. Jithesh’s interests are not limited to cartooning alone since has also published his own collections of poems in Malayalam.

Personal life

He was born on December 30, 1974 at Pandalam in Pathanamthitta District as the son of K. N. Somasekharan Nair and M. Remani Amma. He is graduated with LL.B degree and post graduated with M.A in English Literature. He is married to Unnimaya and father of two children Sivaani and Niranjan
